Stewart Panaman: The UK Boogie Woogie Festival are pleased to present 'String Bass Stew' on upright bass.

Born in the heart of London's West End in the early 1960's I grew up listening to early Blues, Boogie Woogie and R&B music. I started playing the upright bass in my late teens and have been playing professionally for the last 20 years, during which time I have toured Europe and Scandinavia extensively as well as several tours of the USA and Canada, I have also played on the beaches of Beirut at the Lebanese Blues Festival. 
 
I have been fortunate to have backed many visiting artists from the USA from the 1940's & 50's like Joe Houston, Big Jay Mcneeley, Marvin & Johnny, Bobby Parker, The Drifters, Otis Williams, Solomon Burke, Buddy Guy and Big Bill Morganfield to name but a few.
